Uranium Energy Corp erhält Abbaugenehmigung und Produktionsgebiet-Zulassung für das Goliad-ISR-Projekt in Südtexas

Corpus Christi, TX – 14. Dezember 2010 – Uranium Energy Corp (NYSE AMEX: UEC, das „Unternehmen“) freut sich bekanntzugeben, dass die Beamten der texanischen Umweltbehörde [Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)] der Abbaugenehmigung und der Zulassung für das Produktionsgebiet (PA-1) zugestimmt haben und den Antrag auf Bezeichnung einer befreiten wasserführenden Schicht für das Goliad-ISR-Projekt (ISR: Vor-Ort-Aufbereitung) des Unternehmens in Südtexas gewährt haben.

Die heute erteilten Genehmigungen schließen eine administrative Anhörung ab, die Teil des Genehmigungsverfahrens des Bundesstaates Texas ist.

Dem Goliad-Projekt fehlt mit diesem wichtigen Meilenstein nur noch eine Genehmigung seitens des US-Bundesstaates Texas, nämlich eine Genehmigung für radioaktives Material (RML). Die TCEQ führt gerade eine technische Prüfung des Antrags auf eine Genehmigung für radioaktives Material durch. Das Unternehmen plant, Mitte Januar der TCEQ aktuelle Informationen vorzulegen. Nach Erhalt dieser wird TCEQ die von ihr durchgeführte technische Prüfung der Genehmigung für radioaktives Material zum Abschluss bringen.

Über das Goliad-ISR-Projekt (Vor-Ort-Aufbereitung)

Das Goliad-ISR-Projekt ist eins der vier ISR-Uranium-Projekte (auch Satellitenprojekte genannt) von Uranium Energy Corp in Südtexas und befindet sich 40 Meilen östlich von der ISR-Aufbereitungsanlage des Unternehmens in Hobson. Die Anlage in Hobson ist die Grundlage der regionalen Betriebsstrategie des Unternehmens im südtexanischen Urangürtel und ist dazu bestimmt, mit Uran beladene Harze von den Satellitenprojekten in ein Endprodukt zu verarbeiten, das allgemein als Yellowcake oder U3O8 bekannt ist. Der kurzfristige Plan des Unternehmens besteht darin, die Goliad-ISR-Produktion in Hobson zusammen mit der gegenwärtigen Produktion des Palangana-Projekts durchzuführen.
